Guest Designer Corrine Lagneux

We're thrilled to share this gorgeous piece, created by our June Challenge Winner, Corinne Lagneux. Please enjoy her take on our July Pattern Palooza Challenge.

I am the mum of an adorable young girl who is the source of my inspiration and I have a great husband who understands and accepts my passion. I love all styles but I discovered mixed media and now I incorporate it into all my layouts and art journal pages.

I often work with images or postcards brought back from my travels with my husband. I also love street art. I live with my family in Lyon which is a city in east-central France, situated between Paris and Marseille by the Mediterranean.

I've just joined the team l'antre Scrap, who noticed my work and asked me to join them. My blog is in French, but as art is universal, you can find it here: MARCH http://marchblogspotcommarch.blogspot.fr/

I've applied black gesso with a few drops of water (drying with a heat gun), then I added modeling paste and I used a Perfect Pearl mist copper. I've again applied black gesso by small touches (without water) then I used my stamps. I used also white gesso on the feather and to make the lines with a pizza cutter.

Whether you prefer stripes or polka dots, flowers or feathers, or something else entirely, just have fun mixing prints on your project. Feel free to incorporate designs from patterned papers, newspaper or magazine images, stamps, stencils, or your own artwork--Just be sure to include at least 3 different patterns on your creation. Please do not feel required to also design with the color palette of the mood board. You are free to do so if you choose, but this challenge is specifically about mixing patterns and does not have a color restriction.

There is still time to join our challenge this month!

Mixed Media Canvas by Mandy

Hi Friends! Here is my sample of this month's fun "Patteren Palooza" challenge hosted by Dana!

I took a mixed media approach to this month's challenge by using 3 different patterned stencils (flowers, circles, checks) and adding texture, embossing, paints and mists to the stencil work.  I was inspired by Anna Dabrowska aka "Finnabair" to create an altered head piece on the photo using various elements.  Keeping in mind to make the overall creation an original....
We were generously sponsored this month by Jelly Park Stamps and here you can see the Flip Flops. I cut out the digital image and added it to the canvas adhering it with Mod Podge.  I colored the image with watercolor pencils.
Our other sponsor for this month is Molossi Chipboard. I altered three of their chipboard keys shown above...
Here is more close-up's of the patterned details -

Here is what the project looked like before I added highlights and shadows to give it dimension.
I hope you will join us this month, check out these amazing prizes!!!!!

Just a Summer Kind of Girl Layout by Cathi

(Image Sources: 123456)

This month I went for a monochromatic look for my layout!  Our challenge is all about patterns and I have a lot of them going on here! I have used two different patterned papers, circles patterns in my mask, checkerboard stamps, zig zag pattern in the sewing and pennant chipboards!!

We were generously sponsored this month by Jelly Park Stamps and here you can see the Flip FlopsFour Trees ( I converted them to leaves for my flower cluster!!), and Summer Kind of Girl title. I colored these in using Kaisercraft Fusion markers. I always add to love shells to my beachy layouts and also added some netting for texture! I kept with the coral and purple colors on the background paper.

Our other sponsor for this month is Molossi Chipboard. I have used their fun pennant chipboards to get that feeling of movement.

I hope you will join us this month, check out these amazing prizes!!!!!

Card In a Box by Kay

For this month's challenge I thought I'd try something new & different.  I strayed away from layouts & created this dimensional mini card in a box.  I found a tutorial for this on YouTube and thought it was such a cute & creative project.  This little box card measures only 1 1/2" inches wide on each side & is approximately 3 1/2" inches tall (this includes the embellishments).
Here's this month's inspirational board created by our host Dana Tatar.  For the month of July, it's all about patterns...a 'pattern palooza' as Dana called it!  I found much inspiration in this board based on all the wonderful patterns/designs & colors this board has.  In order to join in on the fun your project must include at least three different patterns.  These patterns can come from anything--paper, stamps, stencils--you can even doodle them!
In this close up you can see the different patterns I used to decorate the box.  I created all the patterns with the use of designer paper by 7 Dots Studio.
The pop up embellishments are made up of a few digital stamps that I printed by this month's sponsor Jellypark (tree, bird & typewriter).  I added a bit of color to the stamps with color pencils.  The other embellishments are sticker elements & cutouts from 7 Dots Illumination collection & a chipboard element by Scrapiniec.
The best part about this little card is that you can fold it flat!  So create, decorate, fold, insert in an envelope & mail it to your recipient.  It's a simple as that.
Here's a side view of the card.  If interested in the tutorial I used to create this card in a box--you can find it here.

Now onto this month's fabulous prizes...
